You will be a dynamic aspiring lawyer with appropriate legal academic qualifications and a desire to train with the Council as a solicitor. You will be seeking a training contract in a small, friendly team in a challenging and stimulating environment. You will be looking to gain wide-ranging experience which will include direct contact with Members.
We are looking for a candidate who has already passed the Legal Practice Course. As a trainee solicitor who chooses to work in local government we will offer you a career of unrivaled variety.
We will offer training in at least three different areas of local government law such as planning, environmental health and contract law. In due course we will expect you to undertake a suitable level of property and contracts work in your own right.
Once qualified, and subject to approval and performance, there is the potential for the right candidate to remain with the Council as a newly qualified solicitor.
